Visit to Nokuphila School in Midrand, Gauteng. Grade 2 learners

On Wednesday 10 September 2014, the READ to RISE team visited their first school in Gauteng - Nokuphila School - in Tembisa. A big 'Thank you' to Machela Sathekga for sponsoring the books for the learners. As well as to Chantel, Athol and Taryn for reading with the leaners. The readers read with almost 40 Grade 2 learners in two classes. 

 

The children were excited to get their very own copy of OAKY AND THE SUN to take home and they enjoyed singing the READ to RISE song.

 

The children were excited to see both the Aurthor, Athol Williams, and the Illustrator, Taryn Lock, of OAKY AND THE SUN.
