READ to RISE is a registered non-profit organisation and was founded in September 2013.

READ to RISE's mission is to create a nation of inspired readers.

​

We promote youth literacy in under-resourced communities in South Africa. 

​

We hope to get children in inspired to read through our fun, interactive Class Programmes, Mini-Libraries, puppet shows and book festivals.

​

We believe that if children love to read, they will excel at school and go on to become good constructive mebers of society. It all starts with reading.

 

Our team is passionate about getting children to read. We currently work with 14,000 Grade 2 and 3 learners at 47 primary schools in Mitchells Plain and conduct our OAKY THE HAPPY TREE Puppet Show during school holidays at 25 public libraries around Cape Town.
