On Thursday 21 August 2014, the READ to RISE team visited Cascade Primary School in Eastridge in Mitchells Plain to read with 140 Grade 2 learners at 3 classes. The children were excited to get their very own copy of OAKY AND THE SUN to take home. Readers, Kevin, Aaron, Roscoe and Taryn did a great job reading with the children and teaching them about the parts of a tree and how an acorn grows to become a big oak tree. The books and Mini-Libraries were sponsored in memory of the late Gaspar da Silva Cardoso, who loved reading.
